I’v been listening to alot of music lately. And i really must say, iv come across alot of artists that i never heard before. So when i decide to do this blog i didn’t want to only just review new released albums. So right now im doing 3 “oldies”. Starting off with a favourite of mine, “DJ Mitsu The Beats – A Word Of The Wise”. I never heard any album from him before. I might have ?! I don’t know. But this cd is very nice. With features from, Kev Brown, Georgia Ann Muldrow and Elzhi, it’s a good album. Some nice instrumental tracks on there. Production wise it’s a nice piece of work. Worth your money. Picked this cd up couple of months back, and felt like it could use some more exposure.

Number 2, will be, “Sunspot Jonz – Never Surrender”. At this moment im even listening to this cd. I really like it. It’s from 2008. Picked it up, i guess a few weeks ago. Started listening this week. And i really like the production on this album. Really funky beats. I wouldn’t say this is music from 2008 though. Not in a bad way. But it’s sometimes very oldschool. Like 90′s. So i like his versatile rap flow/beats. I would recommend this MF DOOM or Moka Only fans. It’s not like them, but somehow i think THEY like it. One feature with Gift Of Gab on there, wich we talked about yesterday.

Trés, “Thavius Beck – Dialogue”. This album blew my mind today. Damn this is some hardcore shit. Not all tracks are GREAT. But alot of this is awesome. Glitch-hop ? Am i saying that right ? I don’t know how to label this. Some of it sounds a little like Flying Lotus. The beats on it a real raw, and real “experimental” in my opinion. I got a couple of more Thavius Beck / Adlib albums. They all are awesome. I’m really looking forward to listening to these other albums.

The “DJ Devastate – Movement/Silcence” is extremely hot. I picked it up yesterday. Never heard any of his music before. But i figured i’d give it a listen. And damn, i really enjoyed listening to the whole album. I started looking on the internet for some more information about DJ Devastate. Maybe he released some other cd’s ? Well, i learned he released more. I might even review those albums 2. But right now im only trying to do recent material. Maybe soon… This is album is an instrumental beauty. I loved it all the way trough. Recommended to everyone who’s a beat-freak.

Second release im talking about is, “Gift of Gab – Escape 2 Mars”. With a feature track from Brother Ali & Del the Funky Homosapien. This is really a laidback hip hop album. You might know Gift of Gab from the underground rap group, “Blackalicious”. Never listend to music from “Blackalicious” or “Gift of Gab” himself. So i didn’t knew what to expect. But im glad i gave him a listen. He has a nice flow, and the production on this album is very nice. I really like the track with Brother Ali and Del the Funky Homosapien. On a scale of 10, i would rate this album a 7 though. Maybe this album just needs to grow on me….

Last release ; “Funky DL – The Interview”. After doing some research on Funky DL, i learned he is on the mic for a while now. Starting way back, in the year 1985. At the age of 8 he developed a interest in music. Especially ragga music. BACK TO THE ALBUM. Personally this is not my kind of thing. Might be just a little 2 soft for me. The beats on this album are great though. Real funky and fresh. Give it a listen and tell me what you think… i didn’t know what to think.

Oh Yeah !!! im starting off with a personal favourite of mine. “Nebz Supreme & Moka Only Are The Summasound Clinic – Summer Notations“. The new release of the Canadian Moka Only. But this time Moka Only is doing a album with NebzSupreme. Supreme has a bit of a dark voice. Sounds pretty awesome over some Moka Only beats. I don´t know who did the production on this album. Proberly both ?! Also NebzSupreme and Moka only are the Summasound Clinic. haha. I don’t know what they mean by it. Maybe they met each other in “The Summa” ? Beats on this album are highly recommended to every instrumental hip hop freak. Lyrics over the beats are great as well. so it’s a feast for the ears. Enjoy. i did.

I got my hands on “The Clonious – Between The Dots” almost a week ago. And i have been listening to this cd every once in a while now. According to my last.fm page iv listened to the album 2 times. I got the feeling i’ll be listening to more of “The Clonious”. Iv triend searching to get more of this genius producer. But failed. Sometimes trying out a little dub, while focussing on hip hop / glitch-hop. I got two notable tracks on the cd that catch my attention everytime i listen to the album. It’s Track 2 and 3. Track 2 is titled ; One at a Time. A wonderfull dub-hop track. With awesome vocals on it by Muhsinah. Track 3 is titled ; If Joe Had The Power, wich is a beautifull jazzy instrumental hip hop track. It’s rare i see these kind of albums. If you’re a beat freak, you must have this album. Pick it up in a store near you… it’s worth the buy.

Thirdly, “William Cooper – Beware Of The Pale Horse”. Damn i enjoyed this album alot. I really liked the beats and lyrics on it. William Cooper was the man behind “The black market militia” self-titled debut cd. This is his long anticipated solo album. With features from Killah Priest, Hell Razah, 9th Prince, Kool G Rap, Ill Bill and others, this album is must have for the underground fans out there. I would really recommend this album to any underground fan. Even if you don’t know any of the rappers on this album. Lyrically, the album is insane. It’s a very political album. Concerning the NWO, global domination and political corruption. GIVE IT A DAMN LISTEN YOU HEAR.

Starting with “Camp Lo – Another Heist”. It’s Anotherrr Heist… Hands in the AIR !!!. I was new to Camp Lo. Never really listened to any of their cds. But lately im listening to every album i can get my hands on. So i heard this album yesterday, and i was kind of impressed, because i liked the production done on this. Although not really my kind of beats. Still liked it… No specific tracks standing out in my opinion.  For those new to Camp Lo, give this album a listen, its worth your money and it’s allready in stores since Oktober 20th. Pick it up today…

NEXT UP, “Killah Priest – Elizabeth”. Iv listened to this album today. And again, i never really listened to any music of Killah Priest. But i gave him a chance, haha. Well, i was really impressed. Some of my friends allready listened to him. But i never really got the chance to listen to any of his music. Im glad i gave the album a chance because i really liked it. Iv learned that the production was completly done by DJ WOOL. Iv heard complaints about the production on Last.fm. I agree with them on some level. All the beats sound the same. But in a good way…. i guess. If you like raw beats, and some good lyrics over it. This is something for you. I liked it. Im sure you will 2.  Elizabeth dropped Oktober 20th, so its ready for you to be bought……

LAST cd for today, “Swollen Members – Armed to the Teeth”. Ok i was really expecting a little more from this album.  I mean nothing wrong with this album. With features from Talib Kweli, Tech N9ne and La Coka Nostra, makes this album pretty solid. Beat-wise no big surprises in my opinion. The lyrics of Swollen Members are just awesome. For those who’v never heard any of these guys music, go pick up any SM albums. Personally i really like the albums from Swollen Members with Moka Only still doing his thing with them. Unfortunately he left Swollen Members in 2004. Armed to the Teeth hits the stores Oktober 27th. Make sure you pre-order it !!!!!

Starting with the first, “Doom Presents Unexpected Guests”. It’s a compilation album done by MF DOOM. With some old songs on it, but revised versions or new vocals on it. Definiatly a must for the DOOM fans, like myself. I was very surprised to see this “Doom” compilation to appear so suddenly. Definiatly worth your money. Pick it up when it drops….

Secondly,  “Kam Moye – Splitting Image”. Kam Moye is (the new?) Supastition. After years of recording solely under the name Supastition, the moniker of KAM MOYE (a pseudonym that is actually his shortened-real name) was birthed with a purpose to make soul-stirring music with a message as he says “to help balance the right and wrong”.  I really liked this album because the lyrics are just so good. Same goes for the beats. This is really worth the money, and to those new to Kam Moye, check out some of the albums he released under the name Supastition…

Thirddd, “Masta Ace & Edo G – Arts & Entertainment”, When i saw this in my inbox, i went crazy. Because Masta Ace is one of my favourite rappers. Recommended to every hip hop fan out there ; “A long hot Summer” by Masta Ace. But when i listened to the cd, i was kind of disappointed. I was expecting something like ALHS. Along with EDO. G that would be great. But i was wrong. This is a cd that totally stands on it self. The track “Little Young” produced by M-Phazes is very nice. With a dope video to go along with it. Still, this cd is worth the buy if you like Masta Ace or EDO. G.
